Fortnite’s Disney Metaverse Leak Reports a Major Update
At the start of 2024, Disney announced an investment of $1.5 billion into Epic Games, the studio behind Fortnite, as part of a growing partnership. Epic is working on a self-contained gaming ecosystem that will include a wide variety of Disney properties.
The report comes from HYPEX and ShiinaBR on X, formerly known as Twitter. The two accounts are prominent within the Fortnite online community, and their leaks are notoriously reliable. As with any leak, it’s worth withholding judgment until an official announcement is made by Disney or Epic Games.
Epic has reportedly been “playtesting the big upcoming Disney update”. In fact the leaks report that they are testing Build-Version 5421, which indicates that they are fairly deep into the development of the new update. Fortnite has already launched collaborations with multiple Disney properties like Star Wars Marvel and more. Past crossovers have mostly incorporated aspects of other properties into the pre-existing Battle Royale format.
