Meta Connect 2024 will take place September 25-26. If you can’t make it, you can watch the conference online or at Horizon Worlds.
The hardware highlights of the conference are expected to be the Meta Quest 3S and a prototype of full-fledged AR glasses.
Meta unveiled the program for September 25. Among other things, the company will introduce the "Spatial App Framework", which was first teased in April.

Why it matters
So far, there are only a handful of mobile apps for Meta Quest, which is one of the biggest weaknesses of Meta Quest compared to Apple Vision Pro. The Spatial App Framework is intended to remedy this by lowering the barriers between the mobile platforms and the Quest operating system, Horizon OS.
Meta said it wanted to integrate the Google Play Store into Meta Quest, but Google declined, reportedly because it is working on its own mixed reality headset with Samsung.
With new Quest features like the new window layout and seamless multitasking, the time is right for Meta to make a big push into 2D apps and get mobile developers on board to bring their apps to Meta Quest.
